Happy New Year!!

2010 was really special and ended on a high note with a great performance at the benefit show for the Project to End Human Trafficking and the "near" completion of my upcoming record "They Understand Gravity".

 Other personal highlights of 2010...working with Volountours in South Africa...playing with SO many amazing DC area musicians...new music from Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, Joanna Newsom, and Sun Kill Moon...being in Pretoria for THE GOAL...and the release of my "greatest hits" collection "Songs So Far" which is available online for ONLY $3!!!

And whats coming up in 2011? Jan 10 sees the debut of my new video storytelling website One Minute One Story...Feb 8 is the releaase date for my previously mentioned record AND on Feb 24 I'll embark on what I plan on being a never-ending tour of the United States and hopefully Europe.

On February 24, I’ll head out on a 3 week tour to support my upcoming release “They Understand Gravity”. I’ll be touring solo, but will bring along an acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica, keyboard/piano, glockenspiel, ukelele and maybe an iPad.

Two highlights of the tour will be a benefit for Camp Twitch and Shout in Atlanta and a benefit for Community of the Beloved in Asheville, NC.

The THEY UNDERSTAND GRAVITY tour begins in "just" 99 days and while I'm getting ready for tour and finishing up recording the cd, I'll be blogging three times a week-ish about 1. How the tour is shaping up, 2. How recording with my brilliant producer Aaron Thompson is going 3. the people/places/things that have helped me get here and 4. How YOU can help be a part of this whole project. 

In the meantime, below is a nearly done version of the first song from the record. It's co-written by the obscenely talented Gavin Bush. Then just below that is the front cover art to the record, which was created by the incredible Memo Salazar. I am surrounded by amazing people (and I'm running out of adjectives).
